Non-Toxic Wardrobe Detox: Declutter Microplastic Clothing
in Colorado Springs & Beyond
This service was born from my own journey toward a non-toxic lifestyle. After nearly a decade of reducing toxins in my home, I discovered the impact of microplastics in clothing—and transformed my own wardrobe. As a professional organizer with 8+ years of experience, I now help others declutter with confidence, simplify the process, and create a healthier, more intentional wardrobe.
The Hidden Impact of Synthetic Fabrics
Most modern clothing is made from synthetic materials like polyester, nylon, and acrylic—fabrics that shed microplastics with everyday wear and washing. These tiny particles can be absorbed through the skin, inhaled, or released into your home environment.
In fact, studies estimate that a single load of laundry can release hundreds of thousands of microplastic fibers into the water system. Over time, this exposure can add up—especially when the majority of a wardrobe is made from synthetic blends.
The good news? You don’t have to throw everything away. With the right guidance, you can gradually reduce exposure and build a wardrobe centered around natural, lower-tox materials.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the benefits of a non-toxic wardrobe?
- A more intentional wardrobe
Feel confident in what you own and why you own it, with pieces that align with your values and lifestyle - Getting dressed becomes easier
Fewer decisions, better options, and a closet that actually works for you - More clarity when shopping

Once you understand the impact of synthetic fabrics and microplastics, it becomes easier to make choices that support your overall wellbeing
Where do we start?
We’ll begin by focusing on the areas that tend to have the highest exposure to synthetic fabrics—like activewear, undergarments, and anything you sweat in. These pieces are often worn close to the skin and are a great place to make an immediate impact.
From there, we’ll look at the items you wear most frequently and begin simplifying your wardrobe with intention. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s creating meaningful shifts that feel realistic and sustainable.
You don’t have to get rid of everything. Many clients choose to keep a few synthetic pieces for occasional use, while significantly reducing everyday exposure.
We’ll also touch on footwear and socks, which are often overlooked. Your feet can absorb more than you might expect, so choosing better materials here can make a difference. I’ll share what I’ve learned through my own experience, including guidance on more natural options and minimalist (barefoot-style) shoes if that’s something you’re interested in.
Will I know what to replace items with?
One of the biggest challenges people face is knowing what to replace items with. After booking, you’ll receive a curated guide with recommended swaps, materials, and trusted options—so you can feel confident and prepared before we even begin.
How is your wardrobe detox service structured, and will we finish in one session?
To keep the process focused and not overwhelming, I offer half-day sessions (up to 4 hours). This allows us to make meaningful progress without decision fatigue, so you can feel confident about what you’re keeping and letting go of.
Every wardrobe is different, so while we make significant progress during your session, completion depends on the size and complexity of your space. My goal is to help you create a clear, intentional foundation and build momentum you can continue confidently.
If needed, additional sessions can always be scheduled for continued support.
What happens to the items I'm letting go of?
As we work through your wardrobe, we’ll sort items into clear categories like keep, donate, or discard—so the process feels organized and manageable.
I can take donation items with me at the end of your session. If an assistant is included, they’re able to remove items throughout the session, allowing us to keep working without interruption and make the most of our time.
What is the investment?
The investment for a session is $500 (up to 4 hours) of hands-on support. While many clients choose to focus on their wardrobe, we can also use this time to address other areas of your home—such as cleaning products, kitchen items, or everyday essentials—depending on your goals.
For larger spaces or clients looking to make more progress in a single session, an assistant can be added for $300 (up to 4 hours). This allows us to work more efficiently—and includes help with removing and taking away donation items at no additional cost.
Most clients find that a half-day session is the perfect starting point to create clarity and momentum in their home.
do you offer any other low-toxic services?
Yes—while wardrobe detox is a primary focus, I also offer guidance in other areas of the home, including your cleaning routine, hygiene, cooking tools, and pantry.
After nearly a decade of pursuing a lower-tox lifestyle, I’ve spent countless hours researching, testing, and simplifying what actually works. I bring that knowledge into each session so you don’t have to figure it all out on your own.
We can take this process as gradually or as intentionally as you’d like. Some clients choose to focus on one area at a time, while others prefer to touch on multiple spaces in a single session to start creating meaningful change throughout their home.
You’ll also gain the knowledge and confidence to make more informed choices moving forward—so the impact lasts well beyond our time together.
