Have you ever heard of or taken the Clifton Strengthsfinder Assessment? I thought it would be fun to share, It reminds me of why I’m a professional organizer, this profession is quite literally suited for me and my strengths. I have quoted from the book below, and added my thoughts in bold.

Here are my top 5 strengths.

  1. Developer
  2. Empathy
  3. Input
  4. Intellection
  5. Positivity

Developer- This is the one that prompted me to write a blog post, because it’s so entirely relatable to Grace to Organize. “You see the potential in others. Very often, in fact, potential is all you see…When you interact with others, your goal is to help them experience success…And all the while you’re on the lookout for the signs of growth…for you these small increments—invisible to some—are clear signs of potential being realized” This is literally an explanation of what I mean by “I’m cheering you on with GRACE”

Empathy- “You hear the unvoiced questions. You anticipate the need.”

Input- “Instinctively, you prepare for important conversations or discussions by collecting lots of background information. It is not unusual for you to set aside at least five hours of quiet time each week to consider what you have discovered. You are likely to use this time to expand your thinking.”

Intellection- “It’s very likely that you designate a minimum of five hours a week for solitary thinking. Instinctively, you are by nature someone who soothes people when they become upset, overwhelmed, angry, or fearful about life’s uncertainties. Because you read so much, typically you can expand their view of a situation by sharing a fact, a thought,
a quotation, or a story you have discovered.” I find it ridiculously interesting that out of 34 strengths, 2 of mine say the same thing about spending 5 hours a week thinking alone…

Positivity- “Chances are good that you are attracted to news that promises to improve the quality of life for the entire
human family….Driven by your talents, you feel all is well with your life when people ask you to be their
personal mentor, adviser, or consultant. By nature, you usually are exhilarated by visionaries who invent
the future by dreaming about what is possible.”
