Wanna be more productive? Here are some tips straight from my life to yours!
1. Write down thoughts and ideas immediately. Carry around a notebook with you, and write things down asap. This can be creative writing thoughts, or just things you want to eventually get done. You’ll be amazed at the relief you feel when you aren’t straining to remember things, or stressing that you forgot something! I write down most EVERYTHING. I email myself, text myself, keep a Google drive, use a notebook. Then, I review them every once in a while, see if I can check things off or if I need to something soon. Isn’t it so frustrating when you’re mind is cluttered with things to do and you have to consciously recall everything you’ve thought about?
2. Set a timer! We’ve talked about this one before but I wanna remind you again the power of the timer. If you set 30 minutes for a task and work SOLELY on that task for 30 minutes you’ll get so much more done then if you were half doing it, or getting distracted. And, the timer makes you work faster! The other day I set a timer for 30 minutes for food prep, and I was amazed at what I got done!
3. Don’t procrastinate. If you are tempted to add something to your to-do list but it’s something you can do right now, I say don’t procrastinate! And, if you’re like me you’ll still write it on the list and then get the immediate satisfaction of crossing it off minutes later! Sounds fun doesn’t it?
