I have been thinking a lot lately about how one of my FAVORITE parts of being an organizer is working side-by-side with people. I hear so many stories and learn so much from my clients. I’ve also been thinking about the diversity of my clients.
I had a consultation today with a 95 year old woman, and her husband and they have been married for 72 YEARS! My job is to help them get their bills and documents filed/organized, so they can pass along the info needed to their granddaughter who will be taking care of their finances now. I went to their house after working with a 30 year old single man, who lives in a 1 bedroom apartment. I helped him go through his old school papers/textbooks, get rid of clothes, tidy up his kitchen, and assemble his new exercise bike. Tomorrow, I’m working with a Mom of teenagers who’s husband is retiring from the military, they will be moving soon and have never had to move themselves, and also want to get rid of any thing they’ve been carrying around for all the years he was in service.
This is just a small sampling of the kinds of clients I work with, and the kind of work I do. I thank God constantly for the opportunity to have such variety in my job, and also to connect with some of the coolest people on the planet!
